Nikon D5100 is yet another entry-level DSLR camera which comes with a 16 Megapixel APS-C CMOS Sensor with Expeed 2 processor. It’s a lightweight camera carrying compact design. The sensor comes with ISO 100 – 6400 which expands up to 25600. It has F Len mount which has now over 200 compatible lenses. It also supports 3rd party lenses from other manufacturers.

The Nikon D5100 has a Fully Articulated 3 Inch LCD screen with a resolution of 921k dots. The camera comes with a selfie-friendly screen which means you can take perfect selfies by rotating your screen as per your requirement. You can take portrait images and group selfies as well through this Screen by making the most of it. Additionally, the screen has Optical Viewfinder screen. This advanced Viewfinder has a coverage of 95% with good magnification.

The camera lets you shoot at a maximum resolution of 4928 x 3264 pixels with aspect ratios of and 3:2. The camera can save files in two formats, RAW and JPEG for better development of the images. It can shoot continuously at the max speed of 4fps. It has a max shutter speed of 1/4000 sec.

The D5100 comes with a number of shooting modes including Timelapse Recording. It also comes with Flash Sync Port and 1 Cross Type Focus Points.

Additionally, the D5100 has built-in flash for low light photography. It also features flash shoe where you can mount an external flashlight as per your requirement. The camera has Contrast Detection and Phase Detection autofocus systems which ensures speed and accuracy in focusing while shooting. The cross-type sensor in the camera locks the sensor and gives you perfect images at the end.

The camera features Face Detection technology which can intelligently detect faces in the frame. It also locks down the focus automatically in the image and this way it offers great photographs at the user’s end.

The camera lets you record videos at the highest resolution of 1920 x 1080 at 30,25,24 fps. The camera has built-in Mono microphone. It also features a port where you can connect an external microphone for better sound quality. You can record high-quality sound by connecting external microphone on the camera.

You can connect compatible devices to the D5100 through its HMDI and USB 2.0 ports. Nikon D5100 is powered by an EN-EL14 battery. It can get you 660 Shots with a single recharge which is long life compared to other DSLRs of the same range.

The Nikon D5100 measures 128 x 97 x 79 mm and it weighs 560 gm of weight which is remarkably low compared to other DSLR cameras. It has a thickness of 79mm.
